The series also alludes in particular to the country’s anti-Semitism in the 1990s. ![]() The series is firmly set within Polish culture, with its soundtrack showcasing 1990s Polish rock and pop music. In the book, Paul Copeland’s sister is thought to have been the victim of a serial killer. The setting has been transposed from New Jersey to Warsaw in Poland, and of course, the names of the characters have all changed. ![]()
